Body Temple Spa opens at Finns Beach Club

Ondy Sweeting finds that life in Canggu just gets better and better with the opening of the glamorous new Body Temple Spa.

Throughout 2016 superb restaurants and cafes sprouted like delicious mushrooms and then Finn’s Beach Club set the benchmark for style and glamour.

Now the beautiful neo-colonial mansion that was once home to the Smith family – who are behind Finns – has been reborn as Body Temple Berawa – an exquisite sister spa to Body Temple Spa at the club – specialising in massages and nails.

Enter the cool charm of this tropical extravaganza where areas are opened up to frame picture perfect views of lush and exotic gardens that flank this delightful reception.

The airy space has deep sofas perched just above verdant lawns overlooking an azure pool, while five treatment rooms are enormous – each with twin massage beds and large private bathrooms attached. Think massive sunken baths and twin showers. Upstairs the space showcases the chic élan of the Semara Collection with a vast area housing a neat row of black leather mani-pedi chairs where clients have point blank ocean views across the vast Balinese gardens and an outdoor terrace.

The team at Body Temple Berawa have decided to keep the menu simple and offer highly targeted treatments. Thoughtfully, the list includes an SOS sunburn treatment that’s perfect for post surfing or sunning days down on the beach. Otherwise, it is serious luxury with a classic Balinese massage, a warm stone massage, sports therapy massage that is perfect for those who have been paddling out all morning on the waves, plus the Body Temple ritual, which includes a coffee scrub and Balinese massage. Couples can indulge in a divine retreat that features a black tea and flower footbath; hot stone massage and a coconut body scrub.

Body Temple Berawa’s menu for nail treatments include OPI polish or gel as well as shellac gel and a simple and quick sports mani and pedi.

This January opening specials include discounts for early birds between 10am and 1pm (the perfect pampering following one of Finn’s regular fitness classes) and discounts for treatments after 6pm, as well as free bonus offers for regular patrons. Couples will receive a free bottle of Valdivieso with every Body Temple couples retreat this month

Slip in from Finns Beach Club to this seriously stunning venue and enjoy a delicious chilled rosella and vanilla tea and a cooled cloth while enjoying the view across acres of lawn, with a massive pool and cabana that is perfectly positioned to be a major venue for hen’s parties.

And these special pre-wedding parties now have the ultimate retreat.

Book the entire spa for your glamorous group, at least ten people – with a maximum of 18 – and immerse into the luxe of Body Temple Berawa. Expect to engage in the perfect mani-pedi – therapists are trained to an international standard and do a cracking job. Then indulge in an hour long Balinese massage, emerge for some outstandingly good lunch from Finns Beach Club with salads, wraps, sandwiches, juices and smoothies plus free flow water. The pool and cabana are at your disposal – privately. The entire package is Rp1 million per person but it is easy to add-on some Valdievieso sparkling wine for the insiders price of Rp400,000 a bottle.

Other packages are available, including a Rp650,000 option, divine bespoke parties where the organisers can pull impressive strings to include cocktail packages, catering, beauty therapies, yoga or Pilates classes as well as access to the Finns Recreational Club, formerly Canggu Club,  and more that will have the bride spinning in her seat.

Next door, Finn’s has opened their new Lounge Bar offering expansive views across the beach. With a 2am closing, the party can happily meander into the glamorous lofty regions of Finn’s Beach Club, the perfect place to end a glorious day.
