March 3, 2022 marks the first day of the Balinese New Year, Nyepi. Like everything in Bali it has incredible spiritual significance as the entire island is cleansed in the days before in preparation for a new year. Nyepi is a day completely unique to the Balinese, a day of complete silence without any noise, traffic, fire, internet or lights.
