Jl. Batu Belig No.66, Kerobokan Kelod, Kec. Kuta Utara, Bali, 80361
It began with a very simple idea; to serve only food that was grown locally. At the hand of two talented and passionate chefs, it has grown into a small empire and inspired local farmers to upgrade their produce with an eye to supplying what is often called Bali’s best restaurant. Over the years since they opened, Locavore’s owners/chefs Eelke and Ray have taken ingredients that are often overlooked or ignored and intensified their flavor and appeal with inspiration and sheer brilliance. From sparking a new enthusiasm for Bali’s black pig to turning local tomatoes into culinary art there seems no end to what this contemporary diner in Ubud’s Dewi Sita Road can achieve. Stay tuned as a new location is due to be revealed, without doubt, the brilliance of Locavore will continue to enthrall diners looking for something that transcends the apparent simplicity of the dishes.
The concept behind Locavore sparked Localab where everything under the local sun is pickled and preserved and turned into wonderful dishes. Chef’s dinners are announced before. Night Rooster is their cocktail bar inspired by local ingredients, Nusantara promotes Indonesia’s indigenous recipes while Locavore-to-go feeds us what we want including burgers, eggs and bacon, lively salads and preserves. They have even opened a butcher shop to work to prove that local meat producers can provide high-quality meats that we are proud to serve at home.
