Sexy. Stylish. Beautiful. Upon stepping foot into Ina Ré, Desa Kitsuné’s signature restaurant in the heart of vibrant Canggu, those were our first thoughts. We arrived after dark when the restaurant was bathed in a warm, inviting glow.
We were at Ina Ré to sample the food – a newly launched sharing menu for dinner featuring a curated selection of contemporary Mediterranean dishes. Priced at IDR 850K per person, the price includes 2 drinks including signature cocktails, prosecco, and wine or spirits with mixers.
The menu offers an interesting selection – with four starters to choose from, as well as four mains, two sides and two desserts. While this writer couldn’t wait to get started, it’s essential to show some appreciation for the stunning décor that makes up the interior of Ina Ré.
The restaurant is beautifully designed, especially at night. The dark, stylish interior feels sexy and fashionable, with wood carvings and unique light fixtures. Inside, it’s a cosy cocoon where diners can enjoy great food. There’s also semi-outdoor seating with sofas overlooking the new pool, glowing blue against the night.
As stunning as the place is, everything fades into the background once the food arrives. Here’s what we experienced.
Bold Flavours & Beautiful Presentation
To start we chose the Classico Ceviche and the Fire Grilled Beef Tenderloin.
A pastel garden on a plate, the Classico Ceviche is perfectly savoury and tangy, featuring crisp green romaine lettuce, bright purple beets and a lemony kick that complements the fresh white snapper in a classic Leche de Tigre marinade. We couldn’t get enough.
The Fire Grilled Beef Tenderloin was outstanding. Served on skewers with crispy potato chips, jalapeño, and a parmesan sauce, it was smoky and tender—perfect for meat lovers who appreciate that the tender beef served at Ina Ré is sourced from premium Australian Stockyard grain-fed cattle.
We were thrilled with the Seafood Paella and BBQ Octopus we ordered for main courses—they were generously portioned and perfect for sharing. The Seafood Paella was especially memorable, with a rich blend of aromatic spices, earthy flavours, and fresh ingredients. Made with fresh clam stock, it featured succulent tiger prawns, clams, and tender slices of octopus tentacles, all served on a bed of aromatic rice.
The BBQ Octopus was beautifully tender and smoky, served with a creamy olive sauce that was smooth and velvety, atop a zesty, citrus salad finished with salty anchovies. The secret to this dish lies in a 12-hour sous-vide cooking process for the octopus, followed by a salt massage on its tentacles before being grilled over open flames.
The sides for both dishes included a refreshing, citrusy Smoked Baby Romaine Lettuce with gremolata and walnuts and velvety mashed potatoes with olive oil and chives. Then, it was time for dessert. Like everything else at Ina Ré, dessert was an experience in itself – our tiramisu was made at the table with a thrilling presentation and step-by-step demonstration.
The ladyfingers – the spongy biscuit base used in the tiramisu – are first soaked in a blend of Kintamani coffee infused with orange peels. Our server then added creamy mascarpone gently spiked with Kahlua. Then, a sprinkling of dark chocolate sourced from the farmers of Jatiluwih, some crunchy dark chocolate balls, chocolate sticks and to finish it all off Ina Ré style – glistening, edible gold flakes for a touch of luxury!
A Mediterranean Flavour Haven
We were pleasantly surprised by the food at Ina Ré – each mouthful was a sublime treat and we would thoroughly recommend the restaurant for a dining experience that offers something fresh and different. Other items on the set menu include Crispy Eggplant Milanese Style and Braised Pork Tacos – which we’re excited to try on our next visit. Plus, there’s the à la carte lunch and dinner menu to explore!
Sunday Brunch at Ina Ré
Canggu’s most irresistible Sunday Brunch also takes place at Ina Ré, the perfect spot for sharing with friends or family. The experience kicks off with a mouthwatering Mezze platter, followed by an indulgent selection, including tuna tataki, tacos, and roast beef. For an extra touch of luxury, guests can upgrade to oysters and caviar.
The main course offers a choice of Australian Stockyard beef striploin or crispy eggplant ‘Milanese style’, with the option to elevate the meal further with Ina Ré’s signature seafood paella or a premium Stockyard Gold tomahawk.
